i had the crank turned on my 8n and the rods came out to 2.075 and the mains at 2.230 .the engine has the distributor in the front.i want to know what oversized bearings to order?thanks for any help

It looks like your conrod and crank journals have been turned to 0.019" undersize so you will need 0.020" undersize bearings.

I don't know who you deal with, but when I send a crank out for machining, it comes back with the correct size bearings.

Hi Russ,

Usually, the crank shaft is turned to fit the demension of the next avaliable size bearing (in increments of ten thousandths of an inch). However, I have heard of ordering non-standard size bearings.

Jim is correct, check with a good parts supplier. (Whoever turned the crank should have provided you with this information) HTH. Rick H. Ga.

I would ask someone who sells the engine rebuild kits/bearings.
If they are truly a good supplier of parts they will know.
