I"ve seen a grease fitting just below the steering wheel on some 9ns, but the "cup" on mine (24648) doesn't have a hole for one. Should I change this? and if so where do I find the new cup? It's not shown in my master parts catalog. Thanks in advance. Where would us newbies be without you? You're the only reason I'm on the internet. Pete NY

The master parts cat shows a lube fitting 87907-S in that cup 3669 for 1939-47. 1/4 x 28.

Rob, Your right. But my supplier River Valley Ford, doesn't have it available. Can you tell me who might?
Thanks, Pete NY

Look at your cup again. Very closely. You may have a zerk (lubrication fitting) broke off in there and painted over. They break off, the threads stay in there.
I've never bought one of those cups. I might just drill and tap a port into the cup were I so inclined. Drill a 1/8" hole clean through and a larger hole to the appropriate depth for the zerk threads. You would need a plug tap. Or all the way as conditions require. I believe you can get drive-in zerks too so you may not even need to tap, not sure. I haven't looked at that cup at all. I just grease it on occasion. Strength isn't an issue so much. Zerks are easy to come by. Hardware stores or bearings and belt suppliers.
The way I do it, I don't worry about where to get another one until I fouled up the old one.

Hobo, No I'm from Pawling, NY. over near Danbury CT. I didn't mean to hide the address. I don't understand the logic of this new format.

If you ever run across him punch him one good time for me. I got a PTO shaft off e-bay from him and he sent the wrong shaft. He said it was a 1 3/8 shaft and it was a 1 1/8 shaft. I sent it back and have never got my money. Allways a excuse.
