Hi to everyone on the board, I haven't been on in a while, mainly due to the fact that an F4 tornado came through the Kansas City area back on May 4th and took my house (and many others) with it! No one was hurt (thank God), but the 8N did suffer some damage. It was in pieces getting ready for new paint when the garage it was resting in got sucked up into the air and deposited in a neighbor's field about a 1/2 mile away! I never did find the hood or the fenders, and one front tire still remains missing, but the rest of the tractor is in relatively good condition. The mystery is how the press fit oil fill tube was pulled out and vanished but the paper towel I had shoved into the pipe where the top radiator hose connects to the head was still firmly in place!?! I definitely have a whole new respect for Mother Nature. Still have no pictures to post of the damage, but hope to have some soon. Hope all of you are doing well, and I look forward to everyone's help with the 8N rebuilding project (with the insurance company's $$ this time! :) Paul

Glad you are ok.... Perhaps if you have insurance, it might be covered. Yard maintenance right?

As for wird things with high wind... I've seen drinking straws stuck into trees before...

Paul

I live near Lawson, I didn't suffer any damage but was picking up shingles and splinters of 2x4's and some wall board. I didn't find any fenders or fill tube.

It amazes me that all that stuff can be flying in the air for so long and so far. The news said they found banks receipts 60 miles away.

It's good to here you never got hurt in the storm. I hope the rebuilding of you place is going well. I bet the Insurance companies are going nuts.

WOW! Glad to hear you're all OK. I've never lived in tornado country and don't think I'd like to try it. We all have our natural disasters waiting to happen, I guess. Around here we all talk about waiting for "the big one". Geologists and seismologist all say this area is waaay overdue for a major earthquake. In the meantime we just keep smiling!
