What have I got?

Recently purchased what was advertised as a 9N year unknown. The serial # is 9N210357 (stamped on the engine block). Do I really have a 1946 2N? According to serial # data that I've seen this seems to be the case. Am I right? This is a project for me because it needs rebuilding even though it runs. I need to know what year and model I've got so that I can order the right parts. Anybody got the answer? Thanks.

Can't thank all of you guys enough for your quick responses to my quiry. Now I know exactly what I've got and can proceed with the rebuild that will take up my spare time this summer. Looking forward to getting this '46 2N up to speed. I love it already and can't wait to get it restored.

Roger

I don't think that you need to be too concerned about the proper number for ordering parts. At lease most of the parts will work for the 9N and 2N unless it is not a normal replacement part.

Could be that the engines have been changed. So, the S/N's might not jive, anyhow.

Hope this helps. :})

Thanks a lot you guys. I figured the 2N sounded right. I also know that the 9N and 2N are essentially the same tractor. Really just curious as much as anything. Thanks. Now the fun and work begin.
