Couple of quick questions. First, I'm mounting a Wagner loader on my 8N, and need to remove the headlights to get the frame on. Is there any trick to get those off, (when the bolt is spinning), without tearing up the headlights or mounts? Also, can someone tell me a modern drop-in oil filter number for that 8N? Thanks.
Paul

One word: Dremel! It's the handiest tool I own. Cut that bolt off and go and get a new one. In the end, a lot less hassle, and aggravation. I live in a small town in Central Virginia and the local auto parts store dosent have anything (have to special order spark plugs) and they had the filter in stock for my 8N. Good luck----Rob

If the nut and hollow bolt are heavilly rusted, it isn't going to be a fun job.

If you take the light and bulb frame cover off, maybee you can get a tool on either side of the threaded nut /bolt.

You might be able to fold the grill down and get some tools in.. but I'm guessing the radiator and shroud will be in your way.

If you can get a tool in.. try a pair of vice grips on the exposed area of the hollow thread, and a wrench on the bolt, use penetraiting oil.

If you are lucky you can back it off, and then swap the vice grip to the other side to remove the nut.. if you are real lucky, the threads won't be completely ruined and a thread flie or a small triangular file may salvage the threads... or you may have to run to a store specializing in fasteners an pick up new hollow threaded rods / bolts... they are around.. just have to look.

You might be able to either fully remove that dogleg panel, or just the bottom, and slightly bend it out to get some room.

All else fails, and you may have to hacksaw thru the rod..

good luck

Fram C3 (or C3P) is the filter element for the N tractors...
