So I thought I was a smart guy and ordered the "just like original" tool box for my 8N. Problem is, I don't know where/how the original tool box mounted. Anyone have one mounted that can descibe where it mounts for me.

Thanks!

My original 51 8N tool box had two bolts (pan head) holding it. One, as described by two respondents and one in the bottom attached to the battery box next to the air cleaner. Both drove into captured nuts.

It mounts under the hood, attached to the front side of the dash support, in the area where the battery sits. If your wiring is cobbled up you may have to put a new wiring harness on, as I did, in order to route the wires out of the way of the box.

The tool box sits above the battery and between the battery and the dash. It opens to the front of the tractor. It makes it so you can't get to the terminal block and other stuff.
Open the battery/fuel lid. On the back of the battery box is a hole for one screw. Panhead about a #12-3/4" I guess. Stick the hole in the bottom of the box there and you should see the hole in the tool box lines up with another hole near the dash.
