Bought a $40 4 1/2" angle grinder at WalMart. Lifted the back end of the bush hog with a boom pole and secured it with a chain from a low branch. Had to do it in a couple of steps but I got her up there without breaking a sweat...or anything else. The dang hog just STOOD there straight up on it's 3pt rigging.
I chained down the pto drive shaft so the hub didn't move on me and I clamped the blade to the hub in a good position to grind. Stand up job less then 45 minutes to sharpen those really dull blades. Got all the worn-in bevel off the bottom of the blade. Paid close attention to making both blades the same so the weight is more or less equal. I had to remove probably 1/4", maybe a little less, to get all the wear off it. LOT of wear on the last inch of the blade. Filed the sharp edge off to about 1/16" flat and set her down.
Man, she mows that grass and it looks way good. No more vibration then normal and all systems go! No kidding, the grass looks as good as my 22-inch walk-behind.
I like my grinder. 6 wheels came with it.
