Help! I'm having problems with my new tires. I recently bought a set of 14.9 - 24 tires and they are equipped with six lugs (or loops) that are welded onto the rim. Unfortunately, the bolt circle dimension on the rims is 20 1/4", while the same dimension on the original matching centers is 19 3/8". Has anyone else had this problem? I would slot the holes in the centers, but there would then be barely enough overlap with the new rims. I suppose I'll have to see about salvaging the original rims, but they were all torn up with calcium-induced rust. I've reviewed the archives and can't seem to find any references to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What you can do is find a shop that has an Iron Worker that can roll flat bar..
Roll it to the size you need , weld it on the centers and redrill the holes.
You might check Vocational School shops. A lots of them have them.

'splane this thing again, I'm really lost. Is this for an N tractor with 28" OEM rims?

I'm confused...why not just put the new loop rims on your old center disks? Were they eaten up, too?

bg - Putting the new 6-loop rims on my old center disks was what I was originally going to do. The new rims have a bolt diameter that is too large for my original centers. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and what their solution was.

I guess the solution would be find some star-shaped center disks off a newer Ford or ferguson tractor that has the same bolt-hole pattern at the hub, or find another brand of rim that fits. I had a 6-loop on my OEM center disk that fit fine. I traded it on an original rim. I wonder what it would cost to have a wheel company reproduce the OEM rims?
