I would like to share the "fix" I used with with the help of Willy-N. Mark suggested to use stone-guard from NAPA, it sounded like a good way to fix getting black all over my hands, well as luck would have it, they were out of stock. I went to the other auto parts store in town and ended up buying a can of spray bed liner for $7. This worked like a CHARM. I sanded my steering wheel lightly, primed and painted the steering wheel with the bed liner. I have used it roughly 50 hours now and now sign of wear whatsoever. I can't even scratch or dent it with my fingernail. I really appreciate all who post here and share their knowledge so freely..

Thanks again Cliff

The "Stone Gaurd" I used on my wheel has not cracked or faded yet. Sure was cheaper the $250.00 for a new steering wheel for my Power Wagon. Thinking of doing the one on my tractor too. Thanks for the comment. Mark H.

Cliff. I think you have hit on a good idea. I've been wondering what to do with my steering wheel, and now I know. Thanks for sharing and safe tractoring. Ron
