Any ideas on how to keep rabbits out of my garden. I put up a plastic fence, but they eating through it.

Does Irish Spring work for rabbits like it does for deer?

Sprinkle blood meal in the garden. They won't go near it. Problem is you won't want to be there very long either.

Rabbit fence (Yes, that's it's name)...available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. About 28 inches high, small metal mesh, about $15 for 50 feet. Staple to posts. The rabbits won't eat through it for sure. Chicken wire should work, too, although it's not as heavy duty.

I've heard of fellas putting hair clipping from a barber shop in their garden. But that is gross enough I would stay out as well.

Maybe you could try some chicken wire.

I don't know how many rabbits you have....but around here in eastern VA, I dust the new beans with sulfur, and I have planted quite a bit of clover around the garden. I've seen more rabbits this year than in years past (the local hawks must be on vacation) but so far, the rabbits haven't got into the garden. I also use a real nasty smelling sewage sludge fertilizer (Organite ?) to keep the deer out of the sweet potatoes. That may work on the rabbits as well, but I think the taste of the sulpher is what keeps them out of the beans.

Assuming you don't want a pet cat... An electric fence should work fine. If it isn't near power.. they do make solar ones... though the solar ones are expensive. The regular plug in ones can be cheap though.. I've seen them less than 20 bucks.

Run woven wire/nylon mesh braid instead of plain wire.. gives the animals a visual barrier to associate the shock with.
