Yippeeyiyah! I'm doing it fellas and gallas. Now I need to quit gumming up this board with single posts and determine how to attach two or more pictures in a message. Thank you for your patience. I Continue to upgrade the 9N. New restored wheel set on rear; 8x32" tires, discs, and rims. Ford bumper. In addition to a 2000-2001 license plate I located a 1940 NH plate and mounted on the reverse side.

Next, locate 6V system, 4 spoke steering wheel, original rear red light prior to 47-48, unsealed front beamers, and a Dearborn plow, cordwood saw, and rear blade or new rock rake. One elastic check at a time I guess (elastic as in trying not to make it bounce to achieve my goal). 9N'er

Hello,

I am looking for a set of 8 x 32" rear wheels and discs for a 1941 9n. It originally had dual wheels. I only have one wheel. Can anyone help?

wish I could putz on it and wish I was set up so that I could drive it into it's own place and actually use it to plow...all in time. Similar to kw in Minnesota (but not quite as deep into the woods...or lifestyle), I'm starting from scratch on a piece of land, and well, we're in the phase of dropping trees, skidding, burning piles and living in a 26x14 camp with a modest add-on to it for a temporary shop and bedroom for the three of us. I laugh, because I had to disassemble and fix a worn out tractor too, to get started...someday I'll look back at this.

9Ner:... maybe the best I've ever seen of a 9N without an aluminum hood. Your restoration is an inspiration to us all. That is beautiful work. Now, of course, you need a good work tractor such as a 600 or 800 series. Thanks for showing this. Mike-Iowa

but there are many others from this Board, and out there that I too took inspiration from studying and reviewing their work. The serial number of this 9N indicates that it is a relatively average working tractor (31649 mid-year 40), and there wasn't really anything all that unique about it. Although one grease fitting is pointing forward on one of the front spindles. The hubs are hot riveted, steel hood, steel dash (probably replaced at one time), and there are several weld repairs done to it over the years. The fenders were original and pushed in and rusted through etc. it was beat up. Thank you for you comments. Who knows what I will do with it when it is done...but, I do want to restore it to pure 1940 specifications or, very close. I hope to rebuild the engine sometime in the near future...may be WAY WAY in the future.

Question...was that style bumper used on the horizontal grill models? Or did they use the bumper that looks like a solid chrome auto bumper?

Just curious. Sure is a great looking tractor. Good job.

Don

in addition to the chrome bumper that your are refering to, Ford produced a three bar bumper for the very early 9N and modified it to the 4 bar bumper later on. I don't have any information about the single chrome type bumper other than what Tyler(MD) has posted from an accesories catalog he has. Palmer Fossum also indicated that there was a 3 bar steel version.

That is one beautiful tractor. What you need for that baby is a matching ferguson three point side delivery rake. If you lived closer to my place in N. Minnesota, you could take a look at it. The gray color of the old fergie rake would just match your tractor and make quite a rig.

Great Job and thanks for the pic.

Wouldn't you want a Ferguson plow for her?
I think a Dearborn would be too new.
(Correct me if I'm wrong!)
She's a beaut.
Fine effort.

that would be best. I saw a picture of one that had one plow blade folded up, and one blade remained down...caption said that it could be used for ditching too. That is what I would look for.

Rosewood Machine in Ohio (I believe is the name of the Company). His number is: 513-362-3871.

Iy is cast aluminum to the same specs as the original. It was a defected one so the price was less than the good ones (he didn't have a good one in stock when I needed the grille). It was a minot blemish on the center section. Not notieable at 10 feet, and if I didn't point it out, most people wouldn't notice it. Give him a call. He's a character.

Nice looking tractor. I need to wait til spring to work on mine. Are those the original rims that you cleaned up or were you able to locate used ones? I have one with rust all the way thru the bead and the other is questionable. I need to replace them both probably. Thanx, Gary

from a fella in Colorado. At the time, I was so deep into the tractor that the cost/price he wanted for the center discs and rims caused me to test the elastcitiy of my overtaxed checkbook. I really couldn't afford them, but after sending out inquiries, I learned that a decent set was hard to come by. This set of rims still had the original zinc plating, not a speck of rust or dirt. Only a couple very minor dings probably caused by tire removal and installation with tire bars. It was one of "those" finds that I am now glad I followed through with. It was tough getting those off the UPS truck and into the shed without the wife noticing the UPS tuck outside the kitchen window, and me trying to sneak past the house four times with 40 pound rings of steel.

I think the only way you are going to get multiple pics is by combining them first into one image, then posting.
