Howdy all, Looks like me and the better half will be going up to Denton this weekend!!!!! So far, I'm really exited. How many others here in the south east plan on going???? Zane, I know you attend a lot of tractor shows... Is this really the one to go to???? It looks like it will be a 400 mile drive up..... Any other "real big" ones you could recommend this season???? Are there a lot of Fords at Denton???

I would love to be there this weekend but don't guess I will be able to make it there this time. It is ain't just a day trip we don't make many trips anymore. The car and us are both getting too old and cranky. My wife had surgery on her ankle a month or so ago and that has us sorta grounded for now but it is getting much better. I had the though of making a side car for one of my old Honda 50 mini trail bikes for her to ride in and take it with us to the shows and just ride around. Problem is that most shows won't allow this kind of stuff. :O) I guess I could file suit with the Federal government for discrimination against old folks with funny ideas.

Gotta miss it this year. Was there the past 2 yrs. though. Always have a good time, but it is the hottest place on earth.

Just got back from Denton. Yesterday was a washout, but today was very nice. 80's with a breeze and some clouds. Tractors still coming in. More Fords there than I have ever seen at Denton. Probably 12 - 15 8N's, a few 9N's, a couple of nice 8 cylinder conversions, and a lot of nice jubilees and hundred series. They were weighing in for the pull tonight when I had to leave and the "parade of power" is going off about now. Wish I could have stayed. My neighbor is psyched now because he has an Allis Chalmers G and there were about 6 of them there and he was able to bring home a new manifold for his. I found some nice tools...the old style pliers (no logo) and a Ford screwdriver for $8.00, 3 sparkplug wrenches for $8.00, a Ford Model T jack for $5.00, and a couple of IH wrenches for my collection for cheap. Sure do enjoy pawing through the rust buckets. Hope you get to go. Don't miss the deep fried pork chops. Don

Denton is a great show. Last year was my first time. Unfortunately, I won't be going this year either. The reason is that I worked the past three years (during college) at a historical park in Durham. My job was operating an old water wheel powered gristmill making cornmeal and flour. So happens that my park has a big festival every year during the fourth of july weekend, so I usually work the festival. Also, I was dissapointed in the number of 9/2/8Ns last year. I was really hoping to see some more. All in all, still a great show. I love the steam engines, and I have recently acquired and restored a Maytag one-lunger. Anyways, have fun at the show and everybody that's going take lots of pictures and post 'em when ya get back. Later, guys!

I plan on going to Denton tomorrow morning . Hope to get there early and beat the heat . Last year there were several Fords at the show . After the show I hope to go on down to Badin Lake and get in some fishing . Catfish that is . See you there .

Are there ever any tractor shows in central virginia? Or anywhere in Virginia? I am a total newbie to the Tractor scene, but I would love to go to a show....Just don't wanna drive forever to get there. Thanks! ----Rob

Just check to the left... Click on 2003 Show Guide. That should answer your question... Seems like you have dozens...
