After much effort and annoyance, I finally got the loader back on Mr T yesterday. The loader has not been used in about 15 years so I guess it's kind of a miracle that it works at all. To begin. The bottom of the spool leaks. Ithas what looks like a homemade gasket made from a tire tube or something similiar . It has squeesed out from the sides. And it's leaking. Does anyone make rebuilding kits for these spools? Who, where and how much? What other spools will work? What is the thing behind the spool? It looks like a valve, The line is looped back. Next, What kind of Hydraulic Fluid is used in a Davis loader? Will FNH 134 work or does it require something exotic? Is Davis still in business? Thanks in advance, Rich

I would think 134 is exotic for a FEL. Use something plain & cheap. I use regular cheap hydraulic fluid in my FEL. I don't find it necessary to use fluid with additives like anti-foaming etc. That's for transmissions. I think I pay about $17.00 - $19.00 for 5 gallons. Talk to your auto parts person about this. That's better than the $34.00 or so for 134 at NH
