Picked up some gaskets from the local dealer today.
9N9448 manifold gasket 74 cents
8N7011 tranny drain plug gasket 58 cents
8N6734 oil pan drain plug gasket $1.02
Ordered up some valve cover gaskets at like 82 cents each.

I don't think much of the local NH dealer's prices, $51 and change for the dry, paper air filter for my 2000, kinda' sucks but he's got it and I need it.

hmm, all the prices you guys are "complaining" about dont sound too awful, i mean heck its lucky that ya can still even get parts for a 50+ year old tractor, most all parts are expensive, ya hear some people say JD are expensive, others say MF are expensive, personaly i think that parts are parts, all manufacturers charge alot, but i would rather be able to get them than buy some cheap offshore tractor and get cheap parts for a while and then all the sudden not be able to get any parts after a few years. i cant recall ever having any parts for my fathers NAA being too expensive, i think the steering box seals surprised me a bit, but that was about it. i was pretty scared by NH prices when i had to put brakes on my FORD 8000, had i replaced all the wear parts i would have spent about 1,200 bucks, but luckly i was able to save the 2 outer disks by machining them down and putting a .080 steel shim behind them, the disks were gona be $275 each, so thats why i wanted to save them so bad

Remember Ford is no longer in the tractor business, Ford has been out since the mid 90's. Most NH dealers will sell you TISCO parts as NH is rapidly cutting back on servicing Ford N parts, TISCO parts are usually reasonably priced, Or they may sell you NH labeled parts, they are the pricey ones.

New-Holland has discontinued very few N parts in the last 10 years, most of the posts I read say the newer dealer doesn't want to bother looking it up to see if it is available or not, Tisco parts sell for about the same price as genuine New-Holland (same as when it was Ford) unless Tisco's is foreign made, make your dealer look it up or go to an older dealer that cares about helping you.

I bet you are right about the prices on domestic made parts. Lot of us like to complain about imported parts but we love those prices.
My dealer gives me best price he can I suppose. Heck he gives me parts. I was going to buy a curtain and mounting hardware, order the parts off the Bush Hog brand mowers he sells and the guy just gave me a piece of baler belt to put across the front of my mower. Boy that stopped the dust completely. Amazing. Those Bush Hogs don't have a discharge at all. I wanted the curtain to stop the rocks.

These gaskets are in the New Holland package 'cept the manifold gasket, they are loose.
Apparently the dealers can set prices. I think that because I bought the 8N operator's manual for $5 and other posters say they were charged more.
I thought I saw brand new blue Ford tractors on the lot yesterday. Maybe the were New Holland. Seems like they said Ford on the hood. Dunno.
I might be LOOSING MY BLOOMING MIND!
I got a sister that DRIVES ME NUTS and she is in full flower these last few days.

No Ford on NH tractors since mid 1990's. Ford was out of NH in 1994 and since 1997 when Ford Credit sold their last remaining shares of NH there has been absolutely no Ford Motor ties to the tractor business whatsoever.

Last week my wife had to go to town and was going within a couple of miles of the NH dealer here, so I asked her to pick up a quadrant lever stop for me. She did... $13.95...for a little bolt with an odd shaped head, basically. I called them and asked if that was the correct price and to let 'em know there wasn't a nut with it. They let me know that was indeed the correct price and the wing nut would be another $2.50..... I won't buy too awful much from them anymore.

That is probably for a 9N, the 8N harnesses are alot less, cheaper than making one.

Yep, for my 2N. Could'nt believe what i heard. Ya know like most of you guys say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Mine was fine i just thought that as long as i was at the dealer i would pick one up, not for 80 bucks though.

That's high for sure. Their tank valve is like $33, too high I say.
For a long time I ignored them when I was checking prices but now I'll sure include them for gaskets anyway. Those manifold gaskets are 5 bucks at NAPA.

That's one of the things that I really like about these little tractors. You can usually go buy parts and still walk right afterwards.
Later, Lee

That's the truth. Looking at those new tractors it seemed every little part on it look expensive to replace.
The dang 3pt setup would cost more then an 8N. That stuff could have come off the space shuttle.
