been tinkering with a 8n,6 volt, frontmount dist. and noticed 3 wires running to the generator 1 to ground 2 to field after checking the wiring diagram it looks as though 1 should go to the armature stud on the end of the genny.is this correct and if so could the incorret wiring caused damage to anything.thanks in advance

Phil..... ....I know what you wrote makes sense to you, butt I flunked mind reading. (just ask my ex-wife)

You really need to go by wire color code and wire size.

The Genny BIG OUTPUT STUD on endplate should have a BIG #12 YELLOW w/blk tracer wire that goes to the regulator ARM terminal.

The Genny small insulated FIELD stud on side should have a small #16 blk w/WHITE tracer wire that goes to the regulator FLD terminal.

The Genny small ground stud on side should have a #16 blk w/RED tracer that goes to the regulator mounting ground screw terminal.

The regulator BATT terminal should have a BIG #12 YELLOW (no tracer) to the distribution terminal block and then thru the ammeter loop to the starter solenoid BIG BATT stud.

If NOT ORIGINAL wiring harness, all color code wire betts are off, but the wire sizes should HELP you determine what goes where..... ...Dell
