This is the Johnson County, Indiana, parade before the opening of the 4-H fair. My 2 year old daughter got the little 8N for Christmas, and she still cannot reach the pedals. She sat on the tractor for the whole parade, with mom's guidance. The parade was 4 dum-dum's long (about 1 hour for those who can tell time). There were 44 tractors in the parade, with only 1 Ford, mine. We have 75 tractors in the tent with only 2 Fords, mine, and another 8N with front manure loader powered by internal hydraulic pump. Lots of red and green. The Ford showing is kind of sad. Makes me feel like I have to show mine just for representation of a great tractor. I do get alot of nice comments from some of the older guys. Philip.

I could not ever show my N, because I need it for chores. N's don't appear in shows because N's keep on working, they are practical, versatile and reliable. Now, some of the Green tractors, well, they just have very little use nowdays, so they can lounge around in shows all weekend. What with their narrow front end, no 3 point hitch, silly little johnny-popper 2 cyl engines. I am sure there are many parades where clean, hardly-worked pretty green tractors parade past a farm where a dirty old N is still working away. For a work tractor, I'll take an N. For a beauty pagent, maybe I'd consider a green tractor.

I've discovered that you don't see many N's in parades and shows. It must be because they are too busy working to participate in parades...

I've found that you don't see many N's in the feild. Have you ever plowed with one and then compare it to plowing with a red or green rowcrop?? you'd never go back to that over grown lawn mower. Oh, forgot no live pto for mowing.

If you don't like the N's, the why are you reading an N board? Duh!

And yes, I have plowed with both and prefer the N's as do most of the people on this board!

Respectfully,
MikeC (not afraid to show my email address)

You should have gotten a close up of the 2 yr old on the small tractor, You'll want that later in life.

Good Looking N'S, and family
