...and how good a student am I?
third party image

Just wanted to show of Old George's new inards. Not an ad but all parts from Don B.
third party image

New .090 sleeves and pistons, reground crank, rebuilt oil pump and new adjustable valve train. Should last at least another 55 years.

It has taken a long time to get this far 'cause of all the distractions around here, and the fact I have to "work". Hope this works. Thanks Ed.

nice looking block but when are you going to change out that cracked piston?

just kidding.

By the way all you photo posters, I took a look around the other message boards, and they do not have 1/2 the pics we do here. Good job on the multi-media!

Great photos Old George, great looking engine, nice work! I even like the shrimper as I used to build and repair them from '78-'84. Some day even I may venture to post a photo. I too, would like to thank Ed for his contributions. By the way Old George, it was a super nice day at the speedway, son is here for testing.

Thanks! Did you build them down in Daytona? That one in the picture is one of about three that park out front of where I live, as the Atlantic is right around the corner. I have never been on one but it must be fascinating. Must be good to hear the racers rumbling around the track. Living in Savannah now, I wish my wife was a race fan. No big tracks here, but several in a days driving distance. She won't let me out of her sight for long enough to go though:-)

You've done well, Grasshopper! The short block looks great - Are you going to go with silver, grey, or red? mine is in about the same stage and I can't wait to hear her run.

Keep us posted!

Scott

PS - I took a look at Ed Goodings company site. I have a feeling he understands these 'puters a little better than I do.

Just funning, but it does speed things up and gives me more time to work on the N. This is the best way to mow and pick up leaves and stuff.

I'm going for as original as I can so it will be the dark grey on most everything. I call it a kit now 'cause it is in so many pieces. Another good tip from Ed Gooding was to use zip loc bags for all the many parts. Sure makes assembly much easier. Helps keep them clean too. And yes Scott, Ed understands these puters way more than I. Just goes to show you can learn alot more here than tractors.
