Couple more things out side of a bad coil is the key switch. (Easy to check by jumpering around it), and resistor, if you used one in making the conversion. Also check to see if all wires are making good connections and are clean. Good luck.

That's how I found out my switch was bad, ran a wire from the battery straight to the coil, had all kinds of spark then.

May be time to get the old volt meter or 12v test light out and check to see if you have voltage at the coil - check with points open and closed.

Randy..... ...when you say you have juice at the coil but none at the points, are you saying that you have juice at the coil ignition switch side of the 2-terminal roundcan coil? And that you are saying that at the points side of the roundcan coil you have NO JUICE? That sounds like an OPEN PRIMARY coil winding. To make certain that you don't have an undisclosed ground on the points side, disconnect the coil wire at the distributor feedthru terminal. IF STILL NO JUICE, then coil is bad and need replacing. IF JUICE, then your distributor feedthru terminal is shorted to ground and the feedthru insulator needs replacing..... .Dell

Suspect you have a ground somewhere in this area. Make sure the wire going into the distrubutor from the coil is not being grounded at the connection.

did you put a new coil on? If so, did you stretch the coil spring out a bit? Had to do that with mine.

"did you stretch the coil spring out a bit?"

Question: How do you stretch the coil spring on a
sidemount (round can) coil?

Randy..... ...sometime advisors miss-read the question, sometimes the post is un-clear, OBVIOUSLY, there is NO SPRINGTHINGY with a 2-terminal roundcan ignition coil..... ...Dell
