Putting in a new lawn 'bout half an acre. I don't have a plow so I used a middle buster to break it all up with must have been Wednesday or Thursday next day I spent discing then it rained so I spent Sunday with the York rake working it all out and then I spread seed by hand. Tonite after work I stopped by a neighbor to buy some straw bales and he said he would give me all I needed in exchange for a couple hours labor. So the old '49 actually did real farm work again. Spent about four hours shuttling gravity boxes between the field and the grain bin. After we were done We loaded the straw bales he filled my gas tank and tried to give me cash besides. After spending that many hours in the seat the last couple of day's it really gave me a new measure of respect for the old guys that spent their lives making a living with these N's

I've said it before, but it's amazing how tired you can get working a tractor. It doesn't sound all that bad at all; just sit in a seat and drive around for a few hours....yeah it's hot, but so what? It's really surprising how fatiguing it is what with turning and looking behind you, working that manual steering, hooking and unhooking implements and all. Truly, a very cleverly disguised workout...

Is it just me, or do ya'll's right foot get hot when working? With the fan blowing over the hot manifold, and the exhaust right underneath, my right foot starts roasting after about an hour!--Rob

I never had any problem with a hot seat. Also, I may draw comments from this, but I actually like the steel spring seats better than the padded bench seats like on the farmall 140's and such. I think they ride better and my lower back isn't constantly being poked by that 4" backrest...Yay N's!
