Guys,

Which way doe the head gasket go on? I have a metal clad gasket. It has one smooth side and one side has raised edges around the cylinders and bolt holes. I am guessing the smooth side goes towards the block but am unsure. I went out and searched the posts and came up empty except Zane had good advice on cleaning everything real well before putting it back together.

Thanks

Pat

Pat, you are correct, smooth side toward the block.

I agree. Also, I might add FYI, that all gaskets, rubber, metal, etc., the raised side almost always goes toward the part being fastened onto the base, unless the instructions specifically say the contrary. My $.02
