Yesterday, I received a part for my FORD 9N.When I was grow'ing - up, the only way that I learned about other things that went on in other parts of the WORLD, was by read'n the out-of-town newspapers that were used for pack'n parts, paint, instruments, etc. that were being shipped into our area by the US Post office, or RAILWAY EXPRESS. Most of these "newspapers" came from "down-South", especially from the PIEDMONT AIRLINE, and DELTA AIRLINE territory. This was in the 1930's, 1940', ande even into the early 1960's. Well, one day someone dropped off, at our airport paint shop, a bundle of WALL STREET JOURNALS. This newspaper, I couldn't understand too good, so we used that paper when we needed some masking, covering-up, areas of the equipment that we were restoring. , Well, I used to put the WALL STREET JOURNAL on board the executive airplanes that I once flew. This paper was requested by the senior management, who were generally the passengers. Well, one day, while we were awaiting for those passengers, while our airplane was sitting in a little place called, SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINA, I personally read from the JOURNAL, that, "Lawn mowers - The greatest consumers of the FUEL, (gasoline) imported into the US of A." I saved that JOURNAL. Can't find it rat now. Sorry, you'all. John, pa
