I OWN A 1944 2N. WHEN THE GAS TANK BECOMES HALF FULL THE TRACTOR WILL NOT RUN. IT'S NOT THE STARTER; ALL NEW WIRING HARNESS. IT KICKS OVER ON A 6 VLT BETTER THAN MY 8N. ANY HELP? THANX, RALPH

I'll give you some ideas, but you'll have to do the footwork.

First, when it shutsdown, pull the bottom plug on the carb... you need a good steady stream there.. not a dribble, or drip, and it can't stop and start.

If it doesn't, there are 3 screens in te oem system, One in the tank on top of the fuel bowl assembly, one in the fuel bowl itself, and one in the elbow at the carb... make sure they are clean.. might have to blow the lines out too.

Also, when it quits, if you take your gas cap off, will it restart? If so, might be vacume on the tank due to the tank vent being plugged.

I'm gonna bet a bad/dirty/clogged fuel bowl assembly.. perhaps the pickup tubes are heavilly plugged... might need to drain that tank and unscrew that bowl assembly.

Good luck.

Let us know what you find, or if you have more symptoms/details.
