First post but have been following site for some time. Putting A orc on 9N but will not go on far enough to get roll pin in by 1/2 hole (hits pto housing with big diameter of orc.) I'm tool & die maker and am considering turning the big diameter back enough to make it work. Looks strong enough & I think this will only lengthen small diameter and pto will enter further (plenty of room for both). I Know it's probably pto problem but I don't want to tackle that. You all helped me alot in the past and I value your in put. What do you think. Thanks!

Hi P.W.

I had to turn down my ORC to get it to fit my '41. I've since logged many hours brush hogging with no ill affects.

P.W..

Rather than take the trouble to pull the shaft to put it in a lathe, I think I would have the PTO in gear with the tractor running and use my die grinder with a cut off wheel lightly until I have the shoulder down to where the ORC will fit, good luck.

PW..... ...yes, you have accurately diagnosed your ORC problem. Early 9N's 1 1/8 PTO's have slight lip of PTO support shell and the ORC won't quite fit. The modern 1 3/8 bolt-in replacement PTO doesn't have that problem. Since you have access to a lathe, should be NO PROBLEM for you to cut your ORC down a schoshe (or RCH)..... ...Dell

Dell, You are only the second person I have ever heard use the word "schoshe". The other person was measuring engine timing in schoshes. Just how much is a schoshe? I always assumed it was the exact measurement you needed when inches or millimeters or degrees just wouldn't cut it.
