Redd,
The 8N users manual says 27 PSI at normal operating temperature at 1/2 throttle. It also says it will be high at start, and will of course decrease as speed is decreased.

I Redd,

Actually, this is a frequently asked question on the forum and the responses vary. If you can search the archives (just type in "oil pressure") you will find a multitude on info.

My 49 8N starts at 40# cold then 20# hot on a 90* F day and about 5# hot idle. I have read that any oil pressure at all on these old N's is good. I have also read that some would think my oil pressure stinks. My N runs quiet and smooth at this pressure and should for a long time. HTH. Rick H. GA.

Cold start my '41 9N has 20# it maintains 20# usually but when hot and after brush hoging for 3 hours it drops to 10 to 8#. Still runs good and still has power at that reading too.
