thank you for your feed-back again. i dont want to blow anything out in the hydraulics. like mine now. sometime it will lift with ease, other time, i have to let it all the way down and then it will lift nice. its kind of sporatic. i sometimes have to add a little extra oil , then i lifts with new youth. i quess the main thing i have learned is just dont over-load it. just load what it will raise easily, and settle for that. otherwise , get it checked out. allan b.

Well, 500 to 750 lbs would be my guess at an old 8n, others claim a lot more , the relief valve will give if you have much more, wont hurt a thing, spring relief valve just returns to normal on its own .

The official 2N service manual lists the weight of a 7' disk-harrow at 975 lbs. I assume that the 2N must be able to lift this much, or they would not have it included it. If you use front weights, it may increase the capacity some. I think llamas did a test where he lifted 1200 lbs with his.

Plowman is correct, about 6 to 8 hundred pounds, anymore and the front end is gonna be coming off the ground.

Pretty good indicator for me.....John A

Hey Allan-
Go to the top of this page and click on ARCHIVES; type in LIFT in dialog box labeled keyword search and you'll get over 8000 reponses to this question. It seems the N's lift capacity is around 750-800 lbs. After that, you'll be popping your relief valve and have a real repair job on your hands.
