Deer Park, WA Community Fair has old Ag-iron (pre 1975) on display for first time in many years. The 9N near my '52 8N has serial number 9N35. Owner is grandaughter of original owner and says she thinks it is second oldest still in existence.

It is a little rough, has been painted blue and gray a long time ago, and has some red parts as well, but runs quite nicely.

Does anyone know of any earlier serial numbers still out there?

In Ford N Series Tractors book by Peterson & Beemer, they reported 9N #16 which is believed to came off production line the first or second day that the assembly line was fired up. Some special variations : the crankcase breather cap is located farther to the rear than is found in later tractor; the oil filter is back almost where the toolbox was finally installed on later 9N. Also, it used a 4-blade push fan instead of the later pull type fan. Do you remember the position of the oil filter for serial # 35 ?

Rick..... ....in one of my "Ford Tractor" books, somebody gotts s/n 9N18 with shiny aluminum hood. But I don't remember who it was, some collector/authority. Did you try the hood magnet test? Nice that grandaughter brought out the old iron..... .Dell
