well after two great days of bush hogging and the middle of the third, my 48 8N started running rough, blowing a greyish blue exhaust and overheating. The smoke seemed like it spit vey tiny droplets of an oily substance. There was bubbling coming from the exhaust manifold connection with the exhaust pipe. It was missing pretty good as well. Help....
Does this sound like a head gasket? How hard ids it to change? the book made it seem like it was not that hard. What other things should I look for in this pandora's box

redd-

Changing gasket no big deal. Check head for warpage though. Some minor warp is not a problem.

This would be a great time to check/lap those valves though. Could save you some engine wear and increase performance.

Changing the head gasket is not a hard job, however, it will take patience. Should order a gasket to have on hand. Try this organization for your order.

Worst problem might be rusty head bolts.

Hope this helps.
