Hi Roger,Congrats on the 8N.I did an archive search for you and found one of ZANE's many helpful post's for this very job.Below I have pasted it for you. :~) HTH,Jay 2NSC

"PTO seal replace."
"If you already have the pto shaft out of the tractor you can remove the snapring that is on the inside of the bearing hub.Forcefully drop the implement end of the pto shaft and hub down on a piece of solid hard wood a couple of times and the hub will fall off. Then you can knock out the seal from the inside out and then install the new seal before you put the hub back on the bearing. If the shaft assembly is still in the tractor you can pull the seal out by fashioning a seal puller by welding a big sheet metal screw to the end of a steel rod and bend a 90 deg hook on the other end and before you put the screw into the edge of the seal you should put a large piece of pipe over the home make tool to use as a knocker and then you can jerk the seal out with the home make tool. If you have an impact tool for body work it is even better.Just weld a screw to a nut that will fit the impact tool threaded end. This way it is not necessary to pull the pto shaft to replace the seal. ZANE "
