I'm planning to do the same thing (glad to see that I'm not the only one with that idea).

Hope it works well...

Here in NE Ohio the gas service line ( from the street to the house ) must be 18 to 24 inches deep, the electric line to my house was 36 inches deep, that was in 89, dont know about your area, I rented a trencher , it did a good job, no rocks, soft ground ,dont know how deep that kutter will go for your needs, hope this helps.

That will work just fine, but, depending on the type of soil you are digging in, you might have to make more than one pass to get it deep enough. I dug one in hard dry clay and to took three passes in some spots to get it to the depth I wanted. (18 in.)

I did something similar. I dropped one of my box blade teeth al the way down, and had a flange welded on to it to open the soil up more, and plowed a trench that way, to install phone and electric to my barn.

Be safe with that gas line...

Roger, I just bought a King Kutter 6' back blade for my 8N and I love it. I was also thinking of getting a Middlebuster also. If you get one, let me know how it works. I am from the Buffalo area also. Just got into the Ford 8n's.
