What does the control spring actually do for the hydralics. And more important what will it help to take the play out by tightening the yoke.
Thanks for any info.

Pat..... ...most control spring yoke rods are rusted tigher'n H3LL. And unless you take special care to un-stick the threads, you're gonna bust sumptin fer shur. Know what yer doin!

The control spring compresses when loaded by plowing and automatically raises the plow by the "draft" control mechanism. Remember that little handle under your 8N's right butt is not for flushing, its the draft/position control lever. Horizontal for plowing, vertical for everything else.

And unless you are doing PLOWING, having a loose draft control spring isn't a major thing. BUT if you want to effectively tighten it up, try wedgeing a metal shim somewhere..... ...Dell

The yoke should be tightned till you can just turn the spring by hand. It needs to be adjusted correctly so the Draft control of the hydraulics work correctly. Check out this excellent description.
