The connector for my right lift arm under the rear axel of my 9n is very loose and leaks hydraulic fluid badly. The bolt which holds the arm can be spun with two fingers. I am hoping that I can find a way to tighten it without pulling the axel and trumpet. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks..Ron

If your talking about right hand side as you sit on operators seat, you should be able to fix-tighten it by removing pto shaft. You must drain fluid first, or park front end in a ditch.
I pulled my pto shaft to fix an internal lift problem, when I was in there, I did notice it is possible to fix right side pin. Left side has rearend drive gear in the way, so to do left side you must remove trumpet assembly. If you do both side, remove left trumpet to access both. It is worth a try.

Yes, it is on the right as you sit on the tractor. Thanks for the info. I'll try that. If for some reason it don't work, I guess I can always reluctently do the long job. Ron

Not what you want to hear.... but NOPE, there's no other way. There's a big ol' nut with a cotter pin inside that REALLY needs to be snugged down to 150 ft lbs.

The good news? well, that isn't such a bad task. AND you get to clean out the bottom side of the differential housing. You may wish to consider new pins. Or at least one new one.

It really is nice not to have that slow drip all the time. I took a few pictures when I had mine apart. I enjoyed doing it. duey
