Hey Dell; I found a 80w90 MINERAL gear oil made by pennsoil at NAPA, $31.00. The part number is 40.94. I hope I got it right this time.

I keep seeing your Posts but don't think your listening to what your being told. "Llmas" wrote the "FULL" story on fluids, it is the most comprehensive article written on the subject. To read the report go to:>Link

That's the fluid that I used... The bucket indicates that it's (at least the equivilent of) the original 90wt. mineral oil.

Of course, here in Texas (just north of Houston) would qualify as the 'warmer' areas of the country, where one would prefer the thicker oil...

Hey Guys-
Read your original operator's manuals. The MC134D oil works best in colder climates, the 90wt MINERAL oil in warmer climates. Or is it the other way around? I live in Michigan and use the FORD 134 oil year round without any problems.

You have it right. 134D in colder climates because it is thinner. 90 weight mineral oil in the rest of the country because it is thicker and leaks less.

I'f you've got a Tractor Supply close by, try there... In thier fluids 'department' they'll have a 5 gallon bucket of GL-1 (look for the blue label that states for 1939-1958? Ford tractors).

I paid $39.99 for the bucket...

I just replaced the oil in mine. $20 for 5 gal at local Wal Mart for the GL1 90 wt. Had been running a newer type oil recommended for the Ford Hydraulic/Transmissions from a local farm and home store. Cannot remember if it was the 134D type, but with that oil it leaked from every orifice including causing the clutch to stick. Went with the GL1 and now leaks have slowed and clutch does not stick and I quit blocking it down. Seems to shift smooter as well. I do need to replace some seals, as well as the clutch, but now I can put it off a while until I get more time. Just my opinion, but if your tractor has older seals I'd go with the GL1.

Pat..... ....can tell you right off from the 80-90wt number, it is NOT THE RIGHT OIL. Multi-weight OIL is not HYDRAULIC OIL..... ...Dell
