I went to look at a 1949 8N yesterday evening and the brakes don't work a lick. The guy told me that he had had it apart and used solvent on them and they worked good for a day or 2 and then the grease and oil got on them and they wont work. He said that there are some seals on it that need to be replaced and should be fairly easy to do and that should fix the problem. Can anyone tell me what I would need to do to fix this and how much time and money I should expect to spend?

Thanks

Seals are 7-10 each USD. Brakes are 40-50 for both. A I&T F0-4 manual to show you how is 25-30. Being able to stop: Priceless. Not too tough a job. Good luck. Come on back if you run into specific problems when you get into the job. Lots of seal/brake jobs been done on this board. Steve 8N 169302
