Fast Ed suggested my tranny problem might be a bad or missing detent ball and spring. I can only shift into 2nd and 4th. Reverse is REALLY hard to get into. I adjusted the clutch to where it should be and there is no noises coming from the tranny when it's in gear. Oh yeah..the gear shift sometimes feels wobbly when I try to get 'er into reverse...don't know if that matters. Anyway, I need help understanding this problem and what I should do. Is it common?
Thanks!

It most likely is one or both bearings on your countershaft. If they are worn it makes everything misalign particularly reverse and you can feel it wobbling in your gearshift handle when in reverse or when trying to get into reverse.
