I have an anti-kickback device on the steering column of my 9N. Its offical name, the best I can make out, is Shock-Pro I think. The last part of the label is faded out. It is held on the steering column by two sockethead screws. I want to take some of the slack out of the bearings in the steering column, but I'm not sure what holds the fluted collar onto the steering column. I've taken off the steering wheel-kickback assembly, but don't know how to go any farther. If anyone has any experience with this device, I'd appreciate learning how to take it off the column so that I can tighten up the bearings.

Richard, The name on the anti-kick device is SHOCK-PROOF. The fluted collar is held in place with a steel key that normally holds the steering wheel. If you have slack up and down and or side to side it may be just the slop in that anti-kick device. How-ever if you do not put it back on you will need some other parts that where discarded when it was put on. Hope this helps. Dave.
