Hi folks, quick question, does anyone know what the small holes on the belly of my 8N are for. There are a couple of them. One of them has a small cotterpin in it. It also drips a very small amount of oil from it. What are these for and is it normal to drip some fluid from them? Anything I should be concered about? Thanks as always,
Randy.

Randy,

As Jim said, the hole is for any oil that leaks past the transmission seal or rear main seal. If you have a drip, one of these is leaking. If the oil gets on the clutch, it may start sticking or slipping. You have to split the tractor to fix either.

Good luck,
Danny

They are drain holes for oil that gets past the seals in the engine and the transmission. The cotter pin keeps the hole from becomming plugged up with junk. You have a normal situation.
