I am new at the trator thing and would like some pointers on proper adjustment of the 3 point hitch. One problem I keep having is running the leveling screw out too far when I am cocking my scrape blade to clean out a ditch and it comes out of the nut and is a pain to get back in. Is it supposed to come out or is my assembly not working properly. It looks like it should have a stop on it to prevent this. Also what is the purpose of the drawbar that is in the middle?

I believe you are referring to the swinging drawbar option. It's purpose was to allow you to hitch a pull implement to a single point and then adjust the tongue where needed. Such as in the middle or left for hauling to the point of use and then swinging it to the right to use. Like the older pull bailers and combines though those usually required a bigger tractor. The old Farmalls and Masseys had a swinging drawbar.

Hi Sam,

There is no stop on the threads of the adjustable hitch on the right side of the N 3-point lift. I have heard that individuals have been injured while adjusting the lift too low and having it come unscrewed and dropping an implement on thier foot. I'm not sure about the draw bar you mention.
