First, I want to congratulate myself for following the most important rule for this message board: Search the Archives First!!!By searching the archives, I was able to not ask you the following questions: I think my thermostat is not working? Put thermostat in boiling water to verify operation. Also, if you want to install a bypass, just drill a 1/8" hole in the thermostat. Can I remove my top radiator hose without removing the hood? Yes, but it would be easier to just cut the thing out and install a new one, $3 cheap. My PTO is leaking, how do I replace the seal? Best to buy new PTO with modern 1 3/8" connection. Four bolts, 15 minute job? My alternator is not working properly, I have to throttle the tractor high to start charging. What's wrong? Check fan belt, you should be using a 5/8" belt. Changed to proper belt, charging and cooling is MUCH better. ETC..... .... So now my tractor is no longer leaking from the PTO, no longer overheating, my thermostat is working and installed near the engine end of the hose, and my fan belt is the right size. Aren't you glad I didn't have to post a question. The archives ROCK. It's amazing that there are any new posts at all, it's all been answered before at some point. Thanks.
