Hello Everyone,
I'm on the tractor market again and I have always had an interest in the N-series Fords. My question is....can an 8N Ford handle a 5 foot brush hog well, or are they happier with 4 footers?

Thanks ahead for any replies,

Randy in MO

I have a 5 foot bush hog on mine and it cuts 30 acres 3 times a year and works great

8N + 5ft hog is perfect formula for mowing success. My setup works great that way--cuts, chops, and mows through anything without problems, including metal tractor parts that happen to fall off and get mulched. Plenty of power....

Hi Randy,

The first brush hog I got for my 8N was a used 4 footer. It worked fine for several years until it started to get some pretty good wear on it. I decided to get a new one and got a new 5 foot hog. I like the 5 foot brush hog much better. The N handles it as good as it handled the 4 footer and the 5 foot hog cuts the width of the rear tires, which the 4 footer did not. HTH. Rick H. Ga.

Thanks for the responses! I did the search on brush hogs and found a great deal of facts and opinions, as well.

I've been using a 5 foot on my 8N for years. No problem.
