I have alot of slop in my front wheel spindles so I bought some new spindle bushings and thrust bearings. In the process of knocking out the old bushings it occured to me that I may have wear on the spindle and or the housing. What I want to know is what size are the spindles supposed to be where they go through the bushings and what size should the casting be in order for them to be servicable without replacing them. thanks for the help. philip

Philip. Some bushings are presized to fit and others need to be reamed out to fit the spindles. I just installed a set that needed to be reamed out, but instead of a reamer, used a master brake cylinder honer. It took a little time, but I didn't have to run them in 35 miles to a shop and I still have the tool for future use. Good luck and safe tractoring. Ron

Spindle diameter is 1.245, bushing ID is 1.250". These measurements were found on a new aftermarket spindle and 'factory' replacement bushings.
