Ok..so Im still learning. You guys have been a blessing. Now...my tranny is REAL tough to get into reverse or 3rd. Somebody said something about checking a detent ball and spring. I can't get the screw out of the side of the tranny case so that's a problem. I removed the big nut on the top of the tranny case by the gearshift...the oil that I did see looked REALLY brown and smells bad....kinda like water got in around the shifter boot or somethin'. Any ideas on how to get the shifter to go into reverse and 3rd easier? AND.. should I drain out the oil and put in new? How much, what kind, etc..
Thanks!
