1940 - 9n a "bargain" I bought it as a parts tractor, only $800.Somebody really "doctored" this one. We Took the head off, 2 valves missing, somebody tried to bronze the valve seat, rad is a mess, trans problems. The starter is there and works, the generator is there, one back tire is new with new rim, good grill. The bottom line is it's no bargain, I have bought bargains before, but this is the first time I've got one with internal parts missing. BUYER BE WARE!! BURT.

I am not complaining about this purchase. I thought I would post the info for others, as this is the first time I have founnd internal parts missing. The seller is a young fellow with a wrecking yard, I respect this gentleman and will deal there again as I have in the past. His sales pitch was "there it is, it has been here 2 yrs. never had it running don't think it will run,it is not seized, it has a new back tire & rim and it is a tail light warrantee" ( I got the tail light ). AS far as the price is cocerned, it is at or below average with the new tire being worth 1/2 the price. I am happy but once again buyer be beware. BURT. P.S. when I bought the 2 tractors last year at the auction at Bryans Auction in Guelph, both were in the "dead row" When they dilivered them, I never complained nor offer more money when they drove them off the truck. I paid $750 and $900 plus $175 each for delivery 250 miles!! And one had double rib fenders in perfect cond. BURT.

wow, you are right, that sounds like it started out as a good parts tractor, man oh man, This is the first I have heard of internal parts missing, they probably told you it ran great when I last parked it,{3-10 yrs ago}, that one always makes me laugh, hopefully you salvage other parts off of it and make it worth your while, pat

Jerry, that seems to be about the "normal" price for a parts tractor considering all it there,,and tin work, 500-1000, is right in the ball park, at least around here{upstate ny} that is the case, also I have seen people bid higher for a parts only tractor at auctions than a running tractor, I have seen, parts tractors that are set up, bearings in rear wheel shot, tin bad, etc and have been bought for 2000,, crazy times,, good luck pat
