You can put the pump on the 8N but you have to also use the top plate from the TO-20 on the tractor then it will work. I know this because my first 8N had a Ferguson pump on it and did not relise it till I sold the pump! When I got the pump back I relised what the deal was the ferguson pump was used to fix the 8Ns pump and they swapped out the top plate so the control arm would work the non draft control pump. Archie..... ....interesting question. I had to do a little research. I'd guessed NOT outta perversity and annamosity between Harry and Henry. (like some apparently identical parts use slightly different bolthole spacing...etc...)

Apparently, the TO-20 hydraulic pump base is interchangeable with the 9N hydraulic pump.....BUT.....the 9N hydraulic pump is NOT interchangeable with the 8N hydraulic pump. (summa the gutts are) 8N hydraulic pump rebuild kit about $100. Replace your 3-ring hydraulic piston with the improved NAA "O-ring" piston $25. Rebuilt 8N hydraulic pump $700.

I like Jim's suggestion of Zane's "Live Thang", it certainly seems price competitive..... ...Dell

Archie,

I'm pretty sure the pump is different than a 8n, besides, $400.00 bucks puts you in the ball park for one of Zane's "Live Thangs", it's a live hydraulic setup that Zane designed and sells, I have seen and used one and they work great and you would be getting life hydraulis besides.

I think he also sells a setup to tie into his live Thang for remote hydraulics which would be sweet for a loader or plow.

Hope this helps

Jim
