I have to replace the pulley #2N6312 on my 47 2N. Does the slinger part #40 6310A2 need to be replaced. What does it sling. I do not see any thing about it in the FO4 manual other than the part #. While I have the front end off I will replace the pin #2N3126D & bushing #9n3039. While I have it apart is there any thing else that I need to check. Thanks in advance.

Roland..... ...ya been reading the parts manuals, good for you.

The oil slinger is a weird washer that's suppost to add 1-additional "anti-leak" barrier to keep engine oil from leaking out the front crankshaft seals. Kinda a centrifical force slinger.

I'd get the 1-piece, turned on a lathe, "billet" crankshaft pulley, over the 3-piece sheetmetal assy pulley. Sometimes called frontend loader pulley. Sheetmetal pulley bends and warps (don't ask).

TIP: stuff some soft 1/4" rope down enny sparkie hole so you can turn off and on your crownhead crankshaft pulley bolt. Torque to 150 ft/lbs..... ....Dell
