Randy..... ....this has been discussed many times, you might want to do a search of the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board. Basically, the N's cooling system is considered to be "overcooled" and therefore Ford didn't consider a temperature gauge necessary. But there's NO LAW that sez you can't put your own mechanical temperature gauge in the upper radiator hose. Some guys work up a temp fitting for the side of block drain. Sometimes, some of the N-Cylinder heads have a "boss" drilled and tapped at the side of the cylinder head for a temperature gauge. These cylinder heads were used on industrial applications like oil well pumps, irrigation pumps, electric light generators, and even Ford's version of the WW2 Jeep engine. Interestingly, Ford has for years considered the ammeter and oil pressure gauge in their vehicles not necessary and will charge you extra to have those gauges installed by the factory and the N came with those gauges..... ...respectfully, Dell
