I have a '54 NAA with a front loader, bush hog, grader blade, and disk. I bought a 5ac piece of land on an 11ac lake last year just outside of Evansville, IN. The land was cleared some, but grown up with small trees and brush most everywhere else. I've been clearing it with my NAA and a small dozer. I've now built a good home from my "toys"....a 30X40 post frame building.

Now momma wants a new house.....

I work for a local bank supporting our business application software when I'm not working on my land.

Have a '48 8N worker for 8+ acres down here near Marietta, Ohio. Finish mower, db plow for garden, back blade for driveway. Have a late 50's 861 for 165 acre farm in upstate NY (near Stamford), with db plow, front mount snow blade, spring tooth drag, bush hog.
Do most of my hunting and fishing up there, but some down here in Ohio as well.
Have a 5 horse Fairbanks-Morse up at the farm that runs good -- have lots of fun running her for the neighbors in the summer -- make and break sounds almost as good as SouNdguy's JD B.
Am retired, but work harder than ever -- hunt, fish, golf, RV'ing, etc.....and mowing grass all summer this year!!!

I used to run into a fellow by the name of Covington, Ray I think, from Jackson. One of the better turkey hunters I've ever been around. I would see him at a management area down in Clarke county several years in a row.

Don't know Mr. Covington but the Dunagan's are big turkey hunters. They hunt the management area as much as any one I know. A few others are fairly good around here. I love to turkey hunt but not real good at it. My son is getting better every yeay, proud of him. The late Ben Lee was from this area. Did you know him?

Hi I live with my wife on our 750 acre farm in Southern Ohio (adams county). We have a 1952 8n, 1949 Farmall H and T0-20. We also just bought a John Deere 8220 with 190 hp as our main tractor but we have some fords from the 70s and 80s also. We grow Corn, beans and hay. We have 30 cattle and some sheep. In my spare time (very little) I mess around with my 1989 cr125 dirt bike or do a little hunting.

South Central Wisconsin, about halfway between Madison and Milwaukee on 1 acre that I can see town from, but it is working ever closer each day. Got my first and so far only tractor 7/19/03: 52 8n w/ Sherman Combo. ( I remember the date well because that was the day my dad was admitted to the hospital for what turned out to be a brain tumor. Rick H. GA., you have my sympathies.) It came with a 6’ blade, and I have added a 5’ JD 506 brush hog. As most of the regulars probably know, it now resides on our hunting / rec property near Richland Center, WI. Work as a supervisor at a caster manufacturing facility about 15 minutes from home. Closest I ever come to a traffic jam is having to wait for the cattle to finish crossing the road. Hobbies: hunt pheasant with 2 of our 3 Labradors, bow & gun hunt deer, fish, motorcycle, snowmobile, Tae Kwon Do, and putzing with anything mechanical.

But I don't post much anymore. I do check in morning and evening while I eat breakfast or supper. Think info is still pretty much current, except I retired this past Feburary. Now I'm busier than EVER!!! :-)

Of course, an old farm (in Flint Hill, VA) always has more work to do than one person can get to. But at least now I can spend more time here at my farm. In fact, only go back to "big city" to do laundry once a week.

I have added another GRANDson so now there is one 4 1/2 and 1 1/2. They both like tractors and trains - wonder WHERE that came from. :-)

I live out in the country on 13 acres between Denver and Colorado Springs just off I25. I have a 48 8N that I bought about 4 yesrs ago. I rebuilt the engine 2 years ago. I use it for mowing, snow plowing, dirt moving, and digging post holes. I work for Lockheed Martin in Colorado Springs on a DoD project. We built our house ourselves 8 years ago. At least that was when the county said we could move in. We are still working on it. I'm currently finishing rooms in the basement. I have an 85 Corvette for fun.

Hi- we live on 10 acres of woods 5 minutes from downtown Kalamazoo- over the past 16 years here we've watched the urban sprawl spread beyond our little cul-de-sac. Glad we bought land when it was cheap!
I am a line co-ordinator at a pharmaceutical packaging department-push buttons and do paperwork mostly-
Just put in a darkroom this year and have started to accumulate vintage cameras-mostly on e-Bay.(Rolleiflex 3.5, Mamiya RB67, Voigtlander Vitessa etc) play with motorcycles too (2000 BMW R1100R for sale to finance pole barn-maybe in spring) and birdwatching. We get turkeys in our front yard when it gets colder, deer and fox also.
I use my 52 8N to haul stuff out of the woods and maintain our 1/3 mile dirt road, snowplow in winter-it is my first tractor. My wife is a writer (Q Road) working on her second novel.

SE WI in the city. Have a '46 2N at Dad's down the street he bought it in the mid '60's and I rehabbed it in '98. I bought a '52 8N last summer to take to our 80ac South of Duluth/Superior. the plan is to go through it next spring and getting everything up to snuff then haul it up. I'll use it to hog the field, haul wood etc. I hope to make it bulletproof cuz It's a pain to do repairs 300 mi from power, water, and tools. I'm a field Engineering tech for our local water works. I love to hunt and fish especially ruffed grouse but the 3 kids make it tough, although my 12 year old has started to come along when school/sports allows. I hope after the 8N I can restore my old '73 Triumph Bonneville

I like in Waskom, Texas. Approx. 20 miles west of Shreveport, LA, on the Texas - Louisiana border. I own a 1950 8N I just refurbished. Also own a 1956 Ford 650. I was especially proud of the 8n purchase. Found it parked in the tall weeds in SW Arkansas. The owner couldn't get it to start, and got discouraged. Needed a couple rear tires ($250), and the distributor cleaned up. Got it and a 5' Caroni Finish mower for $900. Got it cleaned up and painted and looking good. This site is wealth of information, and I frequent it quite often. I work for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (27 years). Plan on retiring in 3 - 5 years. Enjoy piddling with the tractors and using them for odd jobs around the place (5 acres).

I live in the Northern Neck of Virginia. God's Country we call it!! Used to be. Back when this was a free country!! Still have Dad's old 8N that he bought new back when it was a new tractor. The place where he bought it was recently closed, but they haven't sold Ford Tractors for many years, just cars/trucks/etc. Actually met the guy that sold him the 8N a few years back. And I still have the Funk, which is still in pieces in my service yard, one of these days...when I return From The Philippines, hehehe. As far as work, still haven't found a job...since my stroke, I've not had my old ambition. Not to mention, my old powers. However, considering the alternatives.....;-( And, I'm a hopeless Internet Addict!! And trying to repair the barn which was damaged by Isabel and over 50 years of neglect/insect damage/etc. Maybe I'll get it fixed, right now, all the "projects" are scattered about the yard. Anybody interested in a old funky junk '68 Dodge Dart Convertible. How about a 64VW that somebody tried to make a Baja Bug outta. In fine shape, except it was stored in a shed where some folks tacked a target to the end, so it has several bullet holes in it! Or a old WILLYS Jeep basket case that I only dragged home for parts. Lemme Know!! I also sell much stuffs on E-bay. Cargocult is my user name. Nothing on now, but maybe today I'll get around to putting some stuffs on. Gotta raise money to get outta here, the first frost was last night!! My truck windshield looks opaque!! Actually went out and took a picture of it to send to my friends in the Philippines!! (They don't have frost there) Or snow!! Mabuhay!!

I live in Old Church, VA. That's eastern Hanover Co, about 15 miles north east of Richmond. For Civil War buffs, I'm 4 miles from Cold Harbor. I've got 3 8N's, all running more or less ok; a '50 frontmount, a '51 w/ a Freeman loader, and my newest (8/03) another '50 sidemount with it's top cover on my workbench as I replace the lift piston today. I'm an agency head w/ VA state govt; my agency budgets the state money for local sheriffs, jails, prosecutors, etc. I'm on 10 acres, 3 open, and plant enough garden to feed this part of the county!

Live in southwestern New Hampshire, work in western Massachusetts. I own a 1946 2N and a 1949 8N. Someday I'd like to hobby farm (a pipe dream probably). I'd also like to own 5 Fords. I'd like to add a 9N, a Jubilee, and a Fordson F to the collection-sort of a box set. After that's done, I'll start collecting Dearborn equipment.
I love the rural life and am fascinated by antique equipment, regardless of make. I'll only own Fords though.
I share my life with my wife, my 2 cats, and a rabbit.

I live in central Ga. about 50 miles south of the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Air Port. I work as a technical instructor at a small community technical college. I teach in the Air Conditioning Technology program. I also spend a lot of time caring for my wife of 27 years who is severely disabled due to a brain tumor.

I have a little over 20 acres; about half pasture and half woods. I have a 49 8N I have owned since 1977, which I restored a couple of years ago (as a result, I don’t have to tinker with it as much as I use to.). I thought I wanted a newer tractor with live lift, live PTO and power steering so I bought a 1983 Ford 2310 diesel last year. I like it a lot but it vibrates more and is noisier than the 8N. With the little time I have left during the week, I like to use my tractors as much as I can. If I don’t have a chore to do I will just ride around a little. Best regards to all.

In my younger days, I used to drag race a 66. You could really do a lot to a 396 at that time. We had it turning out around 800 HP. Won a lot of money and trophies with it. Had to screw the rear tires to the rims to keep from spinning the rims in the beads.

I live in Ottawa, Wisconsin (southeast part of state). I work from home as an information technology consultant. There's a Jubilee and a 2N here along with half a dozen two-wheel Gravely tractors and numerous implements. My son and I raise beef, sheep, chickens and heritage breed turkeys (Narragansetts and Royal Palms at present). He's in 4-H and some of the animals go to the fair. I have an addiction to auctions and bring home a fair amount of ....good stuff for the tractors and the farm. Anyone need 240 oak pallets? That's what I thought...well they'll go in the woodstove.

All are working tractors except the Regular which is a "works in progress". It will be a parade tractor when it is finished. When I'm not working on one of my tractors or around the farm, I haul people around the country in prefabricated aluminum tubes. Ain't life grand?

Live in Cherokee, Alabama in Colbert County in NW Alabama about 10 miles from MS and 20 from TN near the Tennessee river.

I own a 49 Ford 8N and a MF255. Got 60 acres I play with for deer and turkey hunting. Stress the Turkey hunting. I also like to fish for the Smallmouth on Pickwick Lake.I also have a membership in a 2000 acre club about 4 miles away and recently traded my hay crop for a $1250 membership in a turkey hunting club near Auburn Alabama.Six people and 4000 acres. looking forward to springtime.

I'm the Chief Operating Officer of a small manufacturing plant near here.

Currently in the process of remodeling an older home and as soon as they show up having a shop built. My wife thinks it's a garage. I hope to start in on a restoration of the 8N.

That makes me appreciate the amount of public land available here in WI. I hunt/fish whenever my schedule/family allows and do most of it on public/paper Co. land.Currently we're preparing for our 9 day gun deer season and will have 6 guys spread out over 600 ac. of Federal forest. Generally no one will see another hunter during that time. We walk right out of our camp on the end of a logging road.

Got a lot of public land here also but you don't know who else is out there with you. There is also something to be said for having a private lease or land where very few people are on the property at any given tome. I also like to hunt my on land alone most of the time.

Our bow season started Oct 15 and ends Jan 31. The gun season starts the 19th of November and ends Jan 31. Deer quota is one per day.

There are really an unreal number of deer and turkey here in Alabama. We have a liberal turkey season starting March 20 through April 30 in most counties.

I live in town and have seen as many as 9 in the back yard.

And before anyone asks " No, I`m not married to my sister " ( Sorry- bad sense of humour, or no sense of humour as her indoors keeps telling me ) We have the Gerald Ford Library, the Ronald Reagan library, the JFK library and in Little Rock they are building the Bill Clinton Adult Bookstore.

I live in Queens, NYC. Have land and aobile home in upstate NY that I use for hunting and recreation. I have a 1953 Farmall Cub with snow plow, sickle mower, land plow, spring tooth harrow which I keep upstate. Recently I bought a 1946 2N which I am working on here in Queens. Don't have any implements but as soon as I get it running right I plan to get a brush hog and take it upstate. I find it a lot of fun riding the tractor cutting hay. I also found it to be rather dangerous but luckily I didn't get hurt yet.

I live in south central Wisconsin. My one and only tractor is a 1951 Ford 8N, which I bought about 3 months ago--first tractor I've ever even driven, so needless to say I'm starting from ground zero. Been alot of fun taking apart the carb, air cleaner, fuel lines...and getting to know more about a neat piece of machinery. I use it to bush hog, haul trees, etc. on my hunting property.

Btw, thanks to all for the help this board provides.
