The dry compression check is as follows:

#4- 120PSI
#3- 120PSI
#1- 120PSI
#2- 120PSI

The #1 had the wet spark plug. I'm beginning to think CJim in Michigan is close. Maybe head bolts are linking antifreeze? Could a link into the #1 also cause the pinging? Does it make since to remove head bolts that go through water jacket and apply more gasket sealent?

Thanks

Russ, It sounds like you're on the right track to remove your headbolts & use a good thread sealant w/teflon as a first step. You may have to go further if that doesnt cure your problem. Just my .02cents worth. Jim

It's blowing white steam out of exhaust. Three of the plugs had a dry white ash deposit and the wet one was saturated with a liquid.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't white plugs indicate that the engine is running to lean? Running lean can cause excess heat and could be part of the "pinging" problem and may have contributed to the leak starting. Just a thought...

If the bolt/gasket is leaking antifreeze, the head/cylinder/piston/plug would be clean due to the Steam cleaning it was getting. Taste the liquid and see, if sweet, it's antifreeze.
If wet from gas, the color would be similar to the other cylinders with the exception of the moisture content.
