My 46 2n wont start. it will satrt once for a couple seconds but then dies. its getting spark and gas. for the past couple monthes i have been having trouble keeping it running. it wont run unless keep the choke out about half way. but then once in awhile it will run great without the choke. does any one have any idea what is wrong. I'm stumped.

I'd say you need to clean the carb/rebuild it if what ole said doesn't work. You probably have clogged up main jet and or dirt/rust in the bottom of the carb. hope this helps

Andrew, sounds like it's running too lean. Try backing the main jet (one in front of carb) out a little. Should be approximately 1 to 1 1/2 turns from full seat.

...you may have a blown intake gasket or a cracked intake manifold. If you can get it running, lightly spray some starter fluid around the manifold, if it takes off and runs momentarily, the problem is there. need to remove the manifold and check out.
