cutout relay update

OK, I got a NEW cutout relay, installed it, polarized it and darn the same thing. Start up the machine and the ammeter goes positive. Shut off the machine and the ammeter goes negative 30! Crap. This relay comes from Tisco.

More than a few cut out relays come bad out of the box. Yours looks to be one of them.

You can check it by loosing the fan belt and watching the generator motor. Assuming you didn't try to polarize it I would take it back. New one ought o check open with a multimeter out of the box. If it doesn't keep opening boxes until you find one that does.
