I am in need of some additional weight in the rear of my 9N. In the snow it barely gets around going up hill.Does anyone know if wheel weights were made for these tractors or does anyone have any ideas ? I don't have my tires loaded but I may consider doing it. I just wondered if there was anything else someone has done with the same problem. I don't push snow with the tractor I just use it to carry a few bales of hay and straw to other areas of the farm, with a 3-pt rear carryall platform. Any ideas will surely be appreaciated! Rich

Richard, I didn't read the follow ups, But yes they made weights for the 9n. There hard to find. But fluid in the tires and a good set of chians will help you a lot. Then before I came across a set of 9n weights I use to put a 195 pound F-20 weight on my top link. Serves 2 purposes, weight for traction and weight to hold the blade down. JOHN

Richard, Dell gave the best of advice. Only thing I could add is to offer a set of rear weights for 28" rims. They weigh 100's each so truck shipping will cost as much as the iron but, my price is right. Good luck,

jim

Speakin of NY. That's where Richard is from and like I said, I'm sure the freight will be sure to make a guy stop to wonder if he REALLY needs a set of rear weights THAT bad. Now, the fronts are a different story. I'd love to see em go to someone that cares tho. I run iron weight AND fluid in all four in my Jubilee 'cause that's the way I got it but, it's a bit of overkill for me so, when(if)I ever change my tires, I'm just gonna use plain old air and the iron. My land is flatter than flat. Gonna try duals next spring tho. Kinda like the looks of that. Talk about overkill. Toys... Go figure. jim

I would consider a set of front weights. What's the shipping/asking price?

Richard..... ...yes, rearwheel weights are available for the 28" rearwheel. Kinda rare because its so much cheaper to fill the tires with water. Don't use Calcium Chloride as a water anti-freeze or for additonal weight. A couple of gallons of anti-freeze will keep the water from freezing solid, turns it into slushie. Often times you can even get "free" used anti-freeze from the garage and it doesn't eat rubber or steelwheels. Some worry about the poisonous effects of sweet tasting automobile anti-freeze on pets so they use RV toilet anti-freeze instead. There is also an additive made from sugarbeet pulp that is non-poisonous.

Since you are already adding weight with haybales on your 3-point pallet carrier, what makes you think you need more weight for traction?

If'n you need more traction, get tire chains. Sometimes you can even get "free" used 18 wheeler trucker tire chains for the asking and they can be modified to fit your tractor tires. You don't haffta worry about being sued by lawyers for flying links hitting your tractor like the trucking companies do..... ....Dell

I just got my tires filled with something called beat juice. It does not rust your rims or kill all the grass if a tire leaks. Got it all done at the New Holland dealer. Seth
